News from Mrs. Cavoto's Room March 9-13

March 9,11,13 - PARCC Testing
March 16 - Early Dismissal


Math- The students will review reducing fractions to its simplest form.  They will compare and order fractions creating equivalent fractions, and they will use benchmark fractions to compare and order fractions.

English - In English this week, the students will use more to compare two things and most to compare more than two things. They will use comparative and superlative forms of the words good and bad.  There is an adjective test unit 4 planned for Tuesday, March 17.

Reading - This week in reading,  The students will continue to read  and discuss the story of Edward Tulane.  They will use their journals to respond  how Edward is changing and realizing what the important things in life are.    The students will have a vocabulary test on Thursday of this week.  They should know the meanings of the words as used in the story and be able to use the context of a sentence to figure out the meaning of  the words.

Science-  How does your body think and move?  This week in science, the students will describe the jobs of the nervous system and muscular system, and the skeletal system.  The will describe how the muscular and skeletal systems work together to move the body.

Social Studies-The students will finish their Just Look books and prepare to share them with the class.
