Math - We will review comparing fractions this week. We will introduce comparing and ordering mixed numbers this week as well. They will also add and subtract fractions with like denominators.

Reading -This week we will review understanding the differences between fact and opinions and cause/effect relationships.

Our focus will be on understanding different genres, specifically pourquoi tales. Pourquoi is a French word meaning "why." Pourquoi tales are stories that tell how, long ago, something in nature came to be. Often times, these tales contain animals or natural forces that speak or have personalities.

English/Social Studies- The students will continue to work on their Social Studies Brochure on the Southwest this week. The students will also learn about oil products and uses that come from the Southwest Region. The class will begin reviewing for the chapter 10 test, which will most likely be given on Wednesday, 4/11.

Science - The students will learn about the sources of energy this week (hydroelectric, geothermal, solar). The students will do a fun mini-lab on potential and kinetic energy using wooden ramps and various objects to roll down the ramps. Our science test is scheduled for Friday, April 13.
