News from Mrs. Cavoto's Room Jan. 28-Feb.1

Math - There will be a math test over chapter 7 on Tuesday, January 30.
The students should go over lessons 7.1-7.5.  They should bring their text book home to use the pages as a review of the skills.

Spelling - This week is a review unit.  The students will be responsible for workbook pages 79-81. There will be a test on Friday of this week.

English - The students will make comparisons using more and most, and they will use comparative and superlative forms of good and bad.  There will be a test over adjectives on Friday of this week.

Reading - We will finish reading our literature books.  There will be a vocabulary and comprehension test on Thursday of this week.  The students  will work on writing  responses to literature.

Science - The essential question in science this week is How Does the Body Think and Move? The students will describe the jobs of the nervous system.  They will describe how the muscular and skeletal systems work together to move the body.  The students will work with a team to make a model of their body systems.

Social Studies - This week the students will understand how products are transported in the Midwest.  They will compare the advantages and disadvantages of shipping by land and water.  They will also describe the landscape and climate of the Badlands 67 million years ago.
