Math- There will be a test on Tuesday of this week over Fractions chapter 9. The students should study the worksheets and workbook pages from their binders. They can finish any unfinished pages in the chapter for extra practice.
Spelling - This week the students will be working with more VCV words. They will be responsible for workbook pages 144-146.
Reading- This week we will read The Velveteen Rabbit and compare his journey to Edward Tulane. The students will partner up and write a dialogue between the two characters sharing the experiences of how their journey was impacted by the people and events they encountered along the way.
English- We will begin a unit on pronouns this week. The students will understand that a pronoun takes the place of one or more nouns. They will understand singular and plural pronouns along with subject and object pronouns.
Social Studies - We will continue our journey through the Southwest. The students will begin a project. They will choose a state in the southwest to create a travel brochure.. This week, they will be doing the research on the state that they choose.
Science - We will continue our work with simple machines. The students will learn how a pulley and a wheel and axle help people do work.
