Math- We will begin a unit on measurement this week. The students will use customary units to measure to the nearest inch, half inch and quarter inch. They will also use custormary units to measure weight.

Spelling - This week in spelling the students will work with words that have suffixes and prefixes. Workbook page 109-111 are due on Friday. All tests and spelling pages need to be done in cursive beginning this week.

Reading - We will be using the predict/infer strategy, as well as cause and effect. Thinking about story events and personal knowledge helps readers predict likely events. With cause and effect, students will focus on why story events happen and what happens as a result.

You may want to ask your child if they have a red pen for grading in reading. If not, that is something they should remember to bring to class with them.
