2008-2009 Year book order forms will go home with the students on Friday, Nov. 14th. Usually the students really enjoy getting these at the end of the year. The year books have to be ordered by December 1, 2008. No orders will be taken after that date. Parents just a reminder -- Prairieview yearbooks are not paid for at registration, so please place your order now. They are $10.00 and checks are made payable to Lifetouch.

Thank you to all who contributed to the Book Worm drive. We collected over 200 books from our classroom.

Spelling- The pattern this week is consonant + y words with the endings ing and ed. The students should write their spelling words one time each evening and turn them in the next day.
The students will not have a spelling test this Friday.

English - This week the students will go over singular and possessive nouns. This is a difficult concept to learn, so any extra help you can give your child on this skill will be appreciated. The English test is on Wednesday of this week over nouns. There will be an English assignment each night to help them practice for the skills from this unit.

Reading We will finish writing our response to the reading prompt: "How does E.B. White show that Charlotte's Web is a book about friendship?" The reading strategy focus will be on problem solving this week. The students will read stories and discuss the problems and solutions throughout the story. Reading skills will focus on synonyms, antonyms and homonyms.

Remember Our Reading party is on November 21. All folders are due by Thursday, November 20th.
