Reading- The students will finish their reading research project this week and complete their flip books on the computer.

English- The students will finish writing their hero essays this week.

Science- In science this week, the students will learn about natural selection.  This is the process by which organisms with favorable traits are more likely to survive and produce offspring.  For example, giraffes necks did not grow longer because they wanted to reach high into the trees. Giraffes that already had the long neck trait were better able to survive and reproduce,

Social Studies-We will begin a unit on the Midwest Region this week.  The students will have a map quiz of the Midwest on Thursday of this week.  They will  need to place the states and bodies of water in the correct spot on the map.  They will bring home a map to color that is due on Wednesday.
